The Flows
Wild, wet and wonderful
Set in the remote open landscape of Caithness, The Flows is a breath-taking expanse of bog that blankets the land. Rafts of spongy moss float amongst pools of dark peaty water, to make a perfect home for a myriad of insects and the birds that feed on them. Listen out for the piping calls of greenshank or the mournful wails of red throated diver. In summer, look for the small but beautiful plants that are wonderfully adapted to such difficult living conditions.
