Visiting

Fifty miles west of the Outer Hebrides, you can only get to St Kilda by sea, either cruise ships, charter boats or under your own steam.  Although there is open access to Hirta (the main island) all year, to prevent invasive species you must come by open tender. When you land, you should contact the NTS ranger who will help you to get the most from your visit.
