St Abb's Head
Nature and Culture
Between May and July the cliffs of St Abb's Head become a seabird metropolis that contains a heaving, squawking mass of life including guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes. The wild and windswept headland is also an excellent vantage point for the stunning views along the coastline.
But early summer doesn't just bring birds. The cliff vegetation defiantly battles to survive against harsh winds and salt spray, so its summer display of colourful flowers is all the more impressive. The geology here hides two competing tales waiting to reveal themselves.
