Rona and Sula Sgeir
Surrounded by the stormy Atlantic Ocean, these islands are the temporary home for seabirds and seals, which all come seeking a breeding sanctuary. St Ronan, an 8th century monk who lived here, certainly chose a remote place for his retreat, and his beehive-shaped cell still stands today.
