Get involved

Volunteering is a great way to help improve Scotland's outdoors, learn new skills, meet new friends, inspire others and perhaps even get fitter.

National Nature Reserves are wonderful places to get involved - you are able to volunteer in the most spectacular settings with the most fantastic wildlife.

Getting involved is a great way for you to learn new skills and gain experience, get outdoors, discover new places, meet new people, improve your health and the environment at the same time! Volunteers work with us in a range of ways, from short day events to medium or long-term volunteer roles.

Please note that Scottish Natural Heritage does not fund student placements. People seeking funding for student placements could go to the Scottish Natural Heritage website for information about research studentships, but there are only around 3 of these per year.
