Isle of May - research facilities

Priority is given to those involved in ongoing projects and ones which contribute to our knowledge of the features of interest on the island.  There is a lot of pressure on accommodation on the May and at peak season it can be fully booked with ongoing commitments.

Accommodation: The island has accommodation for up to 16 researchers / students in shared bunk rooms.  There is a shared kitchen and living area. Visitors need to provide their own bed linen, towels, food and equipment.

Facilities: there are basic lab facilities; benches, microscopes etc. No field equipment is available at the moment.

Transport: Landing on the May is restricted and researchers need to make arrangements with Reserve staff before heading to the island.
